Oak Ridge Baptist Church is located in Sandy Ridge, North Carolina just off of Highway 704. Oak Ridge has two morning services, the first service begins at 8:30am and the second service begins at 11:00am. Our mission statement is to evangelize the sinner, equip the Saint and exalt the Savior.

      Pastor, Mike Sands, was born December 20, 1965 in Stuart, VA. He was raised in Lawsonville, N.C., and like most folks raised in this area, was very familiar with the local tobacco fields. He was saved at Peter's Creek Baptist Church during a youth-led revival in March of 1986. Sometime later, the LORD began to deal with him. He surrendered to the Gospel ministry later that year.

      Mike is a graduate of Fruitland Baptist BIBLE Institute in Hendersonville, N.C. He graduated from Fruitland in December of 1988. Oak Ridge Baptist Church is the third church he has served as pastor, all in the Pilot Mountain Baptist Association.

      Mike married the former Valeria Catherine Stoker in October of 1991. Mike and Valeria have three children, Kaitlin, Will, and Luke.

      Mike believes strongly in the expository preaching of GOD'S WORD. He also believes in the work and witness of the local church. Mike is very excited to be serving the LORD and HIS people at Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
